Front brake percent effectiveness: 62.6%

Pedal arc ratio 6.2:1 manual, 3.5:1 power, measured at 1/2" of push rod travel.

Tighten drum brakes to heavy drag, BACK OFF 26 notches.

 

67-68 4 piston calipers

2 1/16 diameter pistons

effective piston area 6.68 square inches

 

1969 single piston calipers

2 15/16" diameter piston

effective piston area 6.78 square inches

 

67-69 front wheel cylinders 1 1/8" bore

rear cylinders 7/8" bore

 

Listed percent brake effectiveness - front:  62.6% disc or drum

Line pressure @100 lb pedal load

Manual drum 700 psi

Manual disc 575 psi

Power drum 900 psi

Power disc 800 psi

 

Notes: 1969 disc options included power, and power options included disc. 69 did not have manual disc (discontinued on Camaro in 1968)

ALWAYS check push rod length and master cylinder hole depth for compatibility.  GM used two styles for both manual and power.
